Junior Section
The Junior Section is for boys in Primary 4,5,6 and 7. Section Meetings The Boys and Officers of the Junior Section meet every Wednesday night from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. in the halls of St. Mary’s Parish Church in Avon Street, Motherwell. Section Night Activities During the evening all boys take part in a variety of activities from games to badge work to competition work. Each boy therefore should bring his PE kit to change into for the games sessions. Throughout their four years in the Junior Section the boys will work their way through the Junior Section Achievement Scheme. If worked through successfully the Achievement Scheme awards four badges. Church Attendance A vital part of Boys’ Brigade work centres around the Spiritual life of the Boys. We expect that each boy attends a Sunday School or Church service regularly. We also expect the boys to attend all Company parades in the year. This usually involves three parades per year. Battalion Competitions Throughout the session we take part in all the competitions organised by Motherwell, BelIshill and District Battalion. At present the competitions they hold are: Gillespie Trophy (International Team Games) At the end of the session the Matt Walker Memorial Rosebowl is presented to the company which has performed best in all the competitions. |
